[It isn't often that Robin uses his journal. Oh to be certain, he monitors the thing closely, keeping an ear to the town's goings-ons from the most grandiose schemes to even the pettiest birthday announcement. But lately, Robin's been mulling over some Serious Issues that lack cohesive data in any concrete ways. The necessary solution is crowdsourcing.]

I think it's safe to say most of us have a decent sense of te line between fact and fiction. So now I'm curious: how many of you have met someone here who tells you that you're not real? I'll be filtering your responses, so don't worry about airing your information in public.

[Because naturally, Robin himself doesn't count as public. That would be silly. He sets aside the stack of abused library-gained comics he's been poring over for the last week. There's been enough to unsettle him, but not anything concrete. So some Archie guy can't decide between two girls. So Iron Man and the Hulk teamed up with some guy in a Spider outfit. Even the Superman-punches-an-alien comic doesn't tell Robin much he didn't already know. The issues are too short and too out of sequence to provide any real understanding. Whose world did these things come from? Is there a portal-jumping journalist hopping between dimensions and publishing people's lives as fiction? Or is there more to it than that?]

Oh, and one more thing. Is anyone planning on taking over the pizza place? It's kind of a shame it's just sitting there.

[Aang stares at the journal after seeing Robin's entry come up. It had been so long since their fight. He hoped his and Katara's thoughts that he had lightened up were true. He prepares to speak a few times and thinks of just closing the journal, waiting for another day.]

...H-Hey, Robin.

[Lightened up, started obsessing about something else, same thing right? If anything, talking to Aang doesn't make him feel like someone's just dipped his little brother in a vat of acid anymore, so. Progress?]

Hi, Aang. You're up late.

[Hey, she remembers you.]

Hey, Birdy Boy! Still around and kickin', huh? [And you didn't even welcome her back? RUDE.] Don't worry, no one's ever dared to come tell me I'm not the real deal.

[Oh, Toph. So much easier to talk to her when she's not physically in the room.]

I'm sure there are a lot of things people don't dare say to you.

[It could be progress. His greeting definitely helps Aang to feel better.]

I guess I'm a little off tonight. I woke up and I'm waiting to go back to sleep. [Pause] I've been wanting to talk to you.

Oh really? What about?

[Hopefully it's not about all those intensely personal secrets the airbender might still know. Robin would hate to have to cut out your tongue, Aang. It would probably upset Katara.]

[Fret not, Aang knows better than to call him a Dick.]

I was wondering what you know about tonfas.

[He'd better, no matter how well that name applies sometimes.]

As in the weapon? I've studied them. [They're not a favorite, all things considered. Too close-quarters.] What about it?

I've been trying them out recently. As like an alternative to my bending. [Pause] And I've been trying to find someone to train me in using them. Do you think that could... happen?

Well, they do have good reason to be intimidated. That's true. But I'm still sure I would have heard about something like me being fictional before.

[... Wait what. Where is this coming from?]

Are.. You sure I'm the right choice?

Sounds like you're one of the lucky ones, then. And if it means anything, you're as solid as anyone I've ever met.

You were the closest person I can think of to help. It didn't sound that off from the weapons you usually use, and... I know you fight non-lethally. I'll understand if you don't want to.

I'd say that means something. [Hey, someone calling her solid? She'll take it.] So what about you, then? People running around calling you fictional?

...reality is relative.

[Now there's an interesting answer.]

In what way do you mean?

...The lines of 2D and 3D are infinitely blurred here.

It makes for an interesting day.

While I've never been told I don't exist there have been cases where I've ran into some people who would normally be fictional characters in my world...

I don't suppose you'd care to provide any practical examples?

You sound like you speak from experience.

What makes you think certain people ought to be 2D?

Not me exactly. [He lies.] I've just seen it happen around. Thought it was an interesting phenomenon.

I can start you off, at least. But if you want to have any kind of mastery with them, you'll probably have to make up a lot of moves.

Do you think you could handle that?

Yeah, Robin, that could be enough. It can help me decide for sure if these are the weapons for me, and I think I can make up more moves once I've learned enough. [He did invent the air scooter after all]

I'll be around next time you're free. [Because Robin totally knows Aang's routine by now, even if it's not as regimented and packed as Katara's. Not that he hangs around stalking Avatar House or anything. That would be weird.]
