teenwonder | ᴙ 07 [Action-ish/Written]

[Oh, is it December? Robin's spent the post-Thanksgiving weeks holed up in his apartment struggling to piece together the bigger picture. Joker was here. He's spent seventeen Luceti months stuck here without any real progress to show for it. Things are as bad as they were on day one, which is clearly a failing of Robin himself. And lo, he's fallen back into his brooding. With Jason here to wear the Robin suit and scour for petty street crime (that never even happens), Robin only needs to monitor the journals. And plan. There's so much planning. Planning isn't even something that needs to happen in direct sunlight.

It means he hasn't been outdoors since the last time someone dragged him out. Even his usual sessions with Aang and Jason have been set aside in favor of his obsessing. They won't need to learn how to fight better if he can just crack the secret of getting them out. And if the Joker's here, then the Joker's in league with Slade. Or maybe he's not and Slade is just using this pocket dimension as a way to be rid of all his competition at once.

...Which brings him back to the journal. There are just some things that can't be learned without directly interaction with the subject base.]

What was the last thing you did at home before you were brought here?

[It's just an afterthought into the ether. No greetings, no explanations, no introductions. There's no time for that. He's much more concerned with working out filters to throw on the replies as they come in.]

I... I know that... but... I always get kicked out of restaurants and grocery stores anyways. For some reason they don't like me being around very much...

If Coulson was actually talking, he'd probably have trouble talking about what happened. But since he is writing it is very easy to slip into a dissociative state about what had happened to him.]

I don't mind. I had been stabbed in the back by someone who had invaded our headquarters. Lung-hit so I wasn't dying quickly. My boss managed to get to me after I blasted the guy through a wall. All I can remember is talking to him, and loosing consciousness. Then darkness, and then I was here. Fully healed wound and everything.

Do you have a theory about our arrivals or something? Is that why you're asking? [Hey, he may be sick, but Coulson is a SHIELD agent for a reason. There aren't many reason to ask such a question and for clarification while respecting people's boundaries.]

[Holy inferiority complex, Batman—! He probably shouldn't be surprised by this kind of reaction by now, but he is. It's just not what he's used to.]

It was a joke. Remember those? [Jeez, talk about wound up.] You know, I kinda get the feeling you've been working a little too hard, Robin.

Did you find the Joker yet? Do you at least have some idea of what he's planning??

I might tell you if you'd listen to me for once. Remember what you told me before? About how you'd need to be told before you'd rest?

I don't need to rest. I can handle this. I'll sleep after we put him away.

You always say that. I'm not doubting you, but you don't look so good. That's all I'm sayin'. [Well, that, and he's kind of being an ass.] I haven't found him, but I know where he's been. I know he's up to something.

Well, all over the place. I don't think he knows I've been looking for him, but he's always on the move. See, sometimes, I check the apartments that are supposed to be empty, and they are. Mostly. But there's little things, like burns or stains on the rugs. Like the kinds that chemicals make.

[It's really more a matter of what constitutes being "done".]

He's already had more than enough time to create gallong of whatever he's working on. We should start getting people prepared for the worst.

Not...really? I prefer the word hero. If it helps I ask them to stand down first.

[But this kid is sadly an subtle attention seeker, so that's probably why he put it brazenly...okay maybe not that subtle.]

... Miss Ilyana, is there something abnormal about your physiology? [Come to think of it, she was broadcasting about enormous amounts of food when she first arrived as well, wasn't she?]

[She shakes her head sadly.]

No... I wish it was just something medically wrong with me... but I've seen dozens of doctors, specialists, and physicians, and they all tell me that there's nothing wrong with me, and that I'm simply suffering from malnutrition, and I just need to eat more of... well everything. I have to eat nearly seven helpings of food every meal just to keep from going into a hunger induced coma. Yesterday was especially hard because I could only get about five.

You think so? I mean, he is just one guy... [No henchmen to worry about, at least, so that was a plus.] But how do we do that?

The last thing I did was plan with some people on our next course of action in the war. Then, I woke up here. With wings. Inside the wall of the supermarket.

[ She's still a tad upset at that.... ]

He's the Joker. If you're underestimating him, you're dead. [Jason you are not that new.]

I don't know -- don't panic everyone. Just inform the ones who can handle themselves. I can't -- not until I figure out the connection to Slade. I'm almost there...

I... Think that might be enough from you, Aang. Thanks. [Maybe he'll get a more rational story out of Katara later.]

I would have, if I could. They disabled my powers, so there wasn't much I could do about it.

Your powers don't seem like the type that can be disabled.

[Slade's behind everything ever duh. Robin probably just hasn't shared that very important factoid yet because people always look at him like he's crazy when he brings it up.

He's not crazy, by the way. He's just the only one who understands what's going on here.]

Who says he doesn't? Enough people know about us. The intel's not hard to track down if he's paying attention.
